A perfectly textured linen with one coat of 'lead like' priming.

L21C Artfix Belgian linen is a strong, tight weave all purpose linen perfect for landscapes but adaptable for virtually any style of painting. The linen is beautifully hand primed with one coat of Artfix's unique and proprietary “lead-like” oil primer. The primer acts like lead primed linen, except without toxicity, and has a unique absorbency that allows paint to “bite” into the surface for luminous undertones that glow from within.

The secret to Artfix's exceptional quality, smooth surface and luminous undertones lies in their unique protective formula that isolates each individual fiber. This sealant prevents the acid in oil-based primers from penetrating and destroying the canvas over time. After the sealant is applied, as many as four layers of oil-based primer are applied, ensuring that paint will permanently adhere to the canvas without cracking, peeling or flaking when utilizing professionally accepted standards. Artfix offers a conservator-grade painting surface that, when treated properly, preserves finished art century after century. It is this close attention to detail that makes Artfix a premium product for artists.

4 Raymar panel substrates available:

1/8" MDF - the original Raymar Panel. Our Medium Density Fiberboard has no added oils and the back of the board is sealed with our signature gray melamine to prevent warping and deterioration.

1/16" FeatherLite - Our original MDF panel but half as thick at only 1/16" thin. Designed for the traveling artists who needs a lightweight yet rigid panel. Available in sizes up to 12 x 16".

3mm ACM - Aluminum Composite Material (a version of Dibond®) is the ultimate rigid panel that is completely unaffected by humidity or heat. Made of two sheets of aluminum with a polyethylene core.

3/16" Gatorfoam - An extremely light yet strong archival board made from polystyrene foam between two wood-fiber facers. Ideal for travel and large panels.
